Born on 5th March. He got his Diploma in film acting from Adyar Film Institute. Had more than 14 years of experience in more than 170 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada & Hindi. He was introduced in the film Kalyana Agathigal by Director K.Balachander. His other succesful films includes Nayagan, Avarampoo, Velaikaran, Dharmathin Thalaivan, Thalai Vasal, Devar Magan, Roja, Bombay, Magaleer Mattum, Indira, Minsara Kanavu, Kuruthipunal, Avvai Shanmugi, Jeans, Desiyageetham, Kallazhagar, Padayappa, Kathalar Dhinam, Ethirum Puthirum, Mugam, Time, Amma, Hey Ram, Sudhantiram etc. In 1995 film Avatharam was his debut as a director and the other film is Devathai. Recipient of Best Villain Award for the film Aavaram Poo from the Tamilnadu Government. A.P Nandi award for the film Chanti and he has honoured 3 times Kalasagar and Kalaiselvam award.
